Matthew Wolfman, a native of Andover, Massachusetts, grew up in a small but close-knit family that fostered his appreciation for strong support systems. His passion for trust and estate law was ignited during a summer clerkship with Judge Irvin Condon at the Charleston County Probate Court, where he first encountered the intricacies of estate planning and administration.
Matthew attended Marist College, graduating in 2008 with a degree in English and a minor in Political Science, following a pre-law track. While there, he was also a dedicated Division I (FCS) football player. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from Charleston School of Law, graduating in 2014. Following law school, he gained experience working in Estate Planning and Trust Administration departments with financial institutions and estate planning law firms.
In September 2024, Matthew joined Family Estate Planning Law Group as an associate attorney and now leads the Trust Administration department. Driven to make a positive impact in people’s lives, particularly during challenging times, he is dedicated to becoming a trusted source of guidance in both Trust Administration and Estate Planning. His long-term goal is to be the firm’s go-to advisor for clients and colleagues alike, contributing valuable insights and reliable expertise that support the firm’s mission.
In 2023, Matthew served as co-editor of Drafting Estate Plans, an annual publication by MCLE | New England, contributing his knowledge to this respected resource for estate planning professionals.
Outside the office, Matthew enjoys the outdoors, golfing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (he’s a purple belt with five years of training), and playing bass guitar. He also has a passion for travel and exploring new experiences.
