Pets are a blessing to any owner’s life and over time can become your best friend. Celebrities such as Oprah even have a special plan in place for their pets. Did you know that you can do special planning with an attorney for your pet? Here are some ideas on ways you can care for your animals if you are incapacitated or die.

Pets have needs such as walking, feeding, medication, and maybe even having a special toy that they adore. They also may be sensitive to trusting certain people or environments. Be sure to consider who would take care of your pet if you were no longer able to and where they would live. The best and simplest way to ensure they are taken care of is to consider including your pet in your estate plan, which will allow you to leave your pet with instructions and resources to care for them. You may also want to set aside funds to ensure they are financially taken care of and given the best treatment.
