Stumped on what to do with your children or grandchildren this summer? Sometimes the best memories are made by getting messy and creative! Whether it’s trying a new recipe or doing a craft, there are tons of things you can do with your little ones this summer. We’ve put together a list of some entertaining DIY activities to try on an uneventful or rainy day.
- Try a new recipe.
- Our office’s favorite cherry brownies recipe is an easy and fun summer twist on a classic! Start with Pillsbury Milk Chocolate Brownie Mix, where it says add ¼ cup of water instead add ¼ cup of Maraschino cherry juice. Add ½ a cup of semi-sweet chocolate bits and ½ a cup of chopped up Maraschino cherries to the mixture!
- Make planting pots.
- Design a T-shirt or beach bag.
- Build a popsicle stick birdhouse.
- Make slime or playdough.
- Make pocket fans.
- Make lava lamps. Here is a link to step-by-step instructions: https://www.pbs.org/parents/crafts-and-experiments/diy-lava-lamp
- Make hand puppets and have a puppet show.
- Make friendship bracelets.
